Adam Gregory Joseph Gardner, 33, Swanville, has been charged in Morrison County District Court with felony fifth degree controlled substance possession.
The charge stems from a June 2 incident, when a Minnesota State Patrol trooper stopped Gardner’s vehicle in Motley for allegedly failing to signal a turn.
Gardner allegedly was moving around the passenger compartment of his vehicle when the trooper pulled him over and had his right hand near the center console and his waistband.
The trooper could allegedly smell marijuana from the vehicle and Gardner allegedly said there was marijuana in the vehicle.
Gardner was also sweating from his face and had sores all over his arms, the criminal complaint said.
When asked for his driver’s license, Gardner said his wallet was in his pocket.
While checking the license, the trooper allegedly saw a rock-like substance in a baggie in Gardner’s wallet.
The substance weighed .85 grams and field-tested positive for methamphetamine, the criminal complaint said.
Gardner allegedly said he had purchased the meth and snorted some, before hiding it in his wallet when the trooper pulled him over.
If convicted, Gardner faces up to five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
