Residents of Buckman were advised late last night of a fugitive with multiple felony warrants in the area, armed with a gun and making threatening comments at a residence on 93rd Street.

The Sheriff’s Department received a report around 10:10 p.m. Wednesday of an unwanted subject, identified as 26 year old Mark Flores, who was allegedly very agitated and inside a residence with a long gun. A check of Flores’ criminal record found he had multiple felony warrants and is a fugitive of justice from Texas.

The Morrison County SWAT team responded to the scene as local residents were instructed to secure their homes. Over a period of three hours, SWAT team members attempted multiple times to call Flores out of the home.

When Flores did not comply, the SWAT team entered the residence with the assistance of a Morrison County K-9 team. Flores was located and apprehended by a K9 in an upstairs crawl space, but continued to disobey officer commands, at which point law enforcement deployed a taser. Gold Cross Ambulance personnel at the scene checked Flores and transported him to the hospital for injuries inflicted by the police dog.

Once released from the hospital, Flores will be held in jail pending extradition to Texas on his outstanding felony warrant charges.

Sheriff Shawn Larsen advised the public that the suspect has been apprehended and the area is safe.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by members of the Little Falls Police Department, Pierz Police Department, Royalton Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, Gold Cross Ambulance, Pierz Fire Department and the Department of Natural Resources
