William Clyde Gaskin, 37, Little Falls, is facing a felony fifth degree drug possession charge in Morrison County District Court.
The charge stems from a June 16 incident, when Gold Cross Ambulance staff responded to a report of someone passed out in their vehicle.
When the staff got to the location, the driver, identified as Gaskin, exited his vehicle and allegedly threw what appeared to be a syringe underneath his vehicle and left the parking lot, the criminal complaint said.
Gold Cross employees radioed a description of Gaskin to law enforcement.
When he spoke to law enforcement, Gaskin allegedly said he had his head down while texting and that it might have looked like he was passed out.
Law enforcement allegedly found a syringe loaded with a substance that tested positive as heroin.
If convicted, Gaskin faces up to five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
