Kunze charged for felony domestic assault

Shane Thomas Kunze, 46, Little Falls, was charged July 6 with one felony count of domestic assault by strangulation in addition to two misdemeanor counts of domestic assault and assault.
The charges stem from a July 5 incident where Kunze’s girlfriend alleged that after getting into an argument with an allegedly drunk Kunze that he struck her in the face and choked her.
The victim then called a friend to pick her up, and Kunze allegedly shoved the friend into the van according to both the victim and the friend.
If convicted of the felony, Kunze faces a maximum of three years in jail and/or up to $5,000 in fines.
For the misdemeanors, Kunze faces a maximum of 90 days in jail and/or up to $1,000 in fines for each count.
