Victorio James Pacheco, 27, Minneapolis, was charged with two counts of felony controlled substance possession, July 5.
On July 2, a vehicle passed a state trooper on Highway 10 in Motley. When the trooper ran the license plate, it came back that the license of the owner, Pacheco, was revoked and he had a felony warrant out for his arrest.
The trooper pulled the vehicle over and confirmed the driver was Pacheco. According to the criminal complaint, the trooper also smelled burned marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Pacheco was placed under arrest and a K-9 unit searched the vehicle.
In the vehicle’s center console, law enforcement found a bottle, allegedly containing four pills identified as Oxycontin and Percocet.
Both drugs are Schedule II controlled substances and can’t be possessed without a prescription.
Pacheco allegedly admitted the pills were his and that he has an addiction.
If convicted, Pacheco faces up to 10 years in prison and/or $20,000 in fines for each count.
