Walter Russell Johnson, 52, Little Falls was charged June 22 with felony theft, and two gross misdemeanor DWIs.
The charges come from a June 21 incident, when a Cushing resident called the police to have them remove Johnson from her apartment.
According to the criminal complaint, the person told police she had called a cab to take Johnson to detox, but that he had stolen her car, two credit cards, an EBT card and an insurance card.
Officers searched around Cushing, but didn’t find the car. A Little Falls police officer was searching for Johnson and the car near his home, when Johnson allegedly arrived in the car.
The officer followed and stopped Johnson, who according to the criminal complaint, appeared intoxicated. When Johnson took the field sobriety tests, he allegedly failed and was taken to the Morrison County Jail.
The stolen credit and EBT cards were allegedly found on Johnson. After failing to contact any attorney, Johnson refused to take a breath test.
Johnson was convicted of DWI in August 2013. He also has a pending DWI from May of this year.
If convicted of the felony theft charge, Johnson faces up to five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine
