Sean Timothy Kelly, 46, Burtrum, was convicted Jan. 7 in Morrison County District Court of one felony count of first-degree burglary.
According to the criminal complaint, on May 2, 2014, the Morrison County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a burglary in Elmdale Township.
Victims reported a number of items were missing from a residence and attached garage, including personal documents, tools and extension cords, chairs, and a 12-gauge shotgun.
Officers photographed a shoe print as well as tire tracks that appeared to be from a pickup truck not belonging to the victim.
One of the tools was later located at a pawn shop in St. Cloud, and it was discovered that Kelly had pawned the item.
Officers found that the tires of Kelly’s pickup matched the tracks found at the burglary scene.
A search warrant was obtained for Kelly’s property.
Officers found a number of stolen items, including more than 30 firearms, as well as items associated with a marijuana growing operation, such as 165 grams of marijuana, marijuana seeds, instructions for growing marijuana and numerous jugs of plant-growing chemicals.
Kelly was sentenced to three years in prison and fined $4,495, of which $4,360 was restitution.
Kelly had the following charges dismissed as part of a plea bargain: one felony count each of second-degree and third-degree burglary as well as fifth-degree possession of marijuana, three felony counts of receiving stolen property and one misdemeanor count of receiving stolen property.
